I thought that Mattias [Ekstrom] had already jokered before [in the final], so I was fighting for second and in the last corner he went to the joker and I won. I was fourth out of the first corner and then I jokered and, honestly, I went absolutely flat out and took a little bit of risk. A collision at the start of semi-final two left him last but a strong recovery drive to third allowed him to progress to the final.
I was chasing him all final. We jokered together and Petter came out in the middle between us. All six of the permanent World RX teams were represented in the semi-finals. He qualified 13th in the Intermediate Classification. In the FIA European Rallycross Championship for Supercar, reigning Champion Anton Marklund raced from the second row of the grid to lead the final from the first corner to claim his first win of the season. Compatriot Sondre Evjen finished second having qualified sixth in the Intermediate Classification, while newcomer Henrik Krogstad made it an all-Norwegian podium in a top-four lock-out for the JC RaceTeknik team.
Gundersen took the points lead, three points ahead of Vasiliy Gryazin, who retired after contact in the first corner of the final. Volders leads the Championship standings.
That all three of the manufacturer-backed teams set a fastest time in qualifying and battled for victory in the final shows just how close the competition in World RX is this year, it really is too close to call. It will help to bring out our pure driving skills, for sure. All of them are revving up to go doorhandle-to-doorhandle with some of the biggest names in the discipline. We are certain viewers will have plenty to enjoy from Arvika this weekend. The Olsbergs MSE driver was the dominant winner last time out but faces a renewed challenge from an impressive strong entry list, including fellow Holjes podium-winners Linus Ostlund and Glenn Haug, plus defending champion and last year's Arvika Supercar Lites winner William Nilsson.
Marius Tangen kommer till start i sin Saab At the start of the final, Martell made a good launch and pulled off a daring move around the outside of the first two corners to take second position, a place he would control to the finish of the six-lap race to score his maiden RX2 podium and a fifth RX2 rostrum finish for Team Faren since the start of Competing in his home event, Nathan Heathcote had high hopes for the Silverstone weekend but was slowed by an electrical problem in Q1 which stopped the car completely in Q2.
But, with the car repaired he was able to set 11th time in Q4. It was a battle out there; the competition is very close all the time. To be in front of all these fans at such a historic track like Silverstone is really special. We had things dialled for the semi-final and the final and knew I "Kristjan den obesegrade vill bygga en vinnar" to just send it around the outside and hope to get around some cars early, it worked! We got the electrical problems fixed for Sunday and I knew I had to really push hard in Q3.
I ended up just pushing a bit too hard and tapped one of the barriers, which put me over on my roof again. Conner improved all weekend and made good starts and good manoeuvres, especially in the first corner and he was one of the quickest in the final. We managed to get out in Q4 with hard work from the team, but the weekend was over for him really. We know both drivers have good pace and hopefully we'll get both into the final in Hell.
TV2 Sportskanalen and TV2 Sumo programming will see all three semi-finals and finals for the Supercar and Supercar Lites categories broadcast live during two-and-a-half hours of action-packed RallyX Nordic programming. Ole Morten Myrmel, Project Manager: Fast out-of-the-blocks, the young Swede topped the timesheets in three of the four qualifying races and then dominated both his semi-final and the final to complete a maximum points haul.

Qualifying Races Eriksson and De Ridder shared the spoils between them through the qualifying stages. The Belgian struck first with an assertive performance to fight his way to the front in Q1, before the Swede took advantage of sluggish starts by his OMSE stablemate to seize the initiative heading into the semi-finals.
Anders Michalak placed seventh as he enjoyed arguably his best RX2 weekend to-date, with Martell reprising his round-the-outside Belgian heroics to slot into eighth. As the top two swiftly made their escape, the race leader gradually inched away from his Latvian pursuer. Ultimately, it was not quite enough, with Michalak sealing the last of the three final berths.
Gundersen wound up a subdued fifth, with JC Raceteknik team-mate Nilsson slowed by electrical gremlins. In a bruising second semi-final, De Ridder grabbed the lead from pole before confidently pulling away, until ignition troubles grounded the luckless Belgian on lap four.
His misfortune promoted Evjen into the lead from Martell, with the pair having earlier duelled energetically and traded paint around the course of the opening lap. Both sporting battle scars and flailing bodywork, the Norwegian and American held station all the way to the chequered flag, while Haug benefitted from a brace of clashes between Trogen and Krogstad to clinch the remaining final spot. Final Eriksson held the lead at the start of the final, with Martell making a superb getaway to storm around the outside of Evjen and Gryazin into second.
The American thought about challenging the Swede, too, before backing out of the move and slotting in just behind. Quote, Unquote Oliver Eriksson 1st: Having been quick in Belgium but left with nothing to show for it, I was really hungry coming here and above all, I needed a good result for my championship push and to repay my sponsors for their amazing support.
Hopefully his luck will turn in Norway. For me, the hardest thing compared to racing in the Kristjan den obesegrade vill bygga en vinnar is getting the car set-up right for the European tracks, particularly when that track is constantly changing.
The semi-finals were action-packed from start-to-finish, and we saw excellent performances from Oliver, Conner and Sondre in the final. It was of course a shame for Guillaume to miss out again through no fault of his own after not putting a foot wrong, but he will come back even stronger.

I was sixth on the entry to the first corner, I had to find a way to pass the other cars. I enjoy it a lot. British heroes Andrew Jordan and Mark Higgins endured a challenging weekend and finished 16th and 20th.
The first outing for the World Rallycross Championship on the traditional race track in Silverstone was a complete success. Thousands of spectators celebrated for three long days the Speedmachine festival, at which they enjoyed incredibly exciting motorsport. As was the case in the opening three World Championship rounds, Audi, Peugeot and Volkswagen battled on a totally equal footing on the new race track.
For the third time this year, both EKS Audi Sport drivers qualified for the final featuring the best six. Starting alongside each other on the second row, Bakkerud held a better line in turn one and in doing so secured second place behind Johan Kristoffersson in the Volkswagen. The Norwegian missed out on victory by a mere 0. And of course the podium for Andreas is fantastic. Our fight in the first corner was fair.
Overall as a team we can be satisfied because we have made progress.
Our starts are now more consistent. I look forward confidently to the rest of the season, because now my favorite race tracks are looming on the horizon and my home race in Hell. The opening qualifier saw the Manxman on pole position in a race that included former rally and rallycross champion Petter Solberg and nine-time WRC champion Sebastien Loeb.
An inspired first ever World RX race, and with tremendous pace against the best rallycross racers in the world, put Mark tenth overall.
Two great performances in Q3 and Q4 earnt him double race wins on however the combined results were not quite enough to move him back into a semi-final qualifying position, and he was left to rue the disappointment of the broken suspension suffered in Q2.
His opening race on Saturday was dramatic to say the least; pushed into a spin into turn one, Andy then landed heavily on the jump, sustaining extensive damage which subsequently pitched him off the track at the next turn. The team mechanics pulled out all the stops to repair the stricken 26 Peugeot, ahead of Q2, where the former open rallycross champion and double British vice-champion came home fourth.
However, a sideways Liam Doran on lap two left Scott nowhere to go, the unavoidable collision dropping him down the order. Lining up on the back of the grid for the first semi-final was always going to be a tall order to progress through the field, and despite a strong opening four laps, an electrical issue two laps from home forced him to retire from the race. I think we put on a good show, but we had one bad heat which seriously comprised our results.
